By applying multiple strategies from the real estate investing education, we found ways to not only start the deal—at ages 22 and 25, our team did not fit the ideal resident profile—but also balanced design with functionality so that the end buyer, a U.S. Veteran, could fully enjoy their retirement.
In renovation, we made several structural changes, including: changing the orientation of the entry doorway; removing a non-load bearing wall to create an airy and spacious open floor plan for living and dining spaces; installing a brand new kitchen; and upgrading to energy efficient materials and appliances throughout the home.
Partnering with other women-owned small businesses to create a successful stage-to-sale pipeline was an incredible aspect of this transaction. While this industry skews toward men, women and minority entrepreneurs can achieve great things in real estate!
